Overview: Students will view a media game show based on nutrition, where the contestants are exposed to factors that enter
into their decision making process about foods that they would like to eat, such as peer pressure, commercialism, propaganda and self
indulgence.

Math (averages/totals/graph reading)
Social Studies (society propaganda/economics)
Science (experiments with foods)
Learning Objectives:
The learner will:
- Learn about how to make healthy choices about foods based upon knowledge gained
- Read TV/radio/newspaper ads with a discerning eye
- Locate facts about nutrition from food pyramid chart and food labels
- Read nutritional food facts labels
- Calculate daily intake of nutritional values related to the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA)
- Develop and use vocabulary relating to nutrition
- Write a persuasive writing for a product
- Create, design a product for marketing dealing with nutrition
- Experiment with various food substances
